FAQ:
HOW DO TRYOUTS WORK?
Players should arrive as they would to practice with a glove, bat, helmet (extra bats and helmets will also be available) and either cleats or gym shoes. After registration, where you receive a bib number, players will warm up on the field, placed in groups and guided to evaluation stations including:

Players should provide their bib number to each evaluator at each station. IMPORTANT - Players MUST attend at least one tryout to be eligible for the drafts.

WHO ARE THE EVALUATORS?
OPYBS uses Legacy Sports to assess each player individually during the tryout process. Scoring is via evaluation software and used exclusively to create the eligible player draft board. Before your player leaves, we will confirm all scores are in the system as they come off the field (we will remind them before tryouts begin) and make sure they take all of their belongings.

CAN I BE ON THE FIELD DURING MY PLAYER’S EVALUATION?
No. Only players trying out, adult volunteers (guiding players between stations, hitting groundballs, catchers and running the pitching machines) and 2020 named head and assistant coaches for Junior Bronco and Bronco will be allowed on the fields. Parents should return to the upper level spectator area to watch and wait for their player.

WHEN DOES THE DRAFT TAKE PLACE?
The two draft days are Monday March 8 and March 15 for both leagues. All players chosen on March 8 receive notification by phone no later than March 9. All players not notified, should plan to attend the March 15 tryout session. Junior Bronco and Bronco notification will complete by March 17. Any undrafted player will be placed in Mustang or Shetland. Mustang and Shetland teams will be formed and players notified by the last week of March.
