Oak Park Falcons
Oak Park Falcons is an OPYBS-sponsored travel softball program that will provide an affordable alternative to traditional travel clubs for OPYBS softball players.
Guidelines
- 14U and under players must play in OPYBS House League to be eligible.
- Tournament schedule is driven by the House League schedule. House League commitments and participation remain the priority.
- OPYBS will provide a subsidy to help defray the costs of participation.
- Age and squad levels will be determined from year to year based on interest.
- The Falcons will play no more than six (6) tournaments per season, unless teams are split in squads.
- Off-Season Tryouts for 12u and older teams will take place in mid- to late July for the fall and following spring/summer season. Tryouts for 10u and full team practices will begin no sooner than March.
- Roster spots are offered based upon coach’s selection after tryouts, and are not negotiable.
- There shall be no required overnight travel.
- When possible selected tournaments will be within one hour and 30 minutes from Oak Park.
- When possible tournaments for any team will not be scheduled more than two weeks in a row.
- In most cases, tournaments selected will be over weekends – Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- This is competitive tournament play. Players are not guaranteed a minimum number of innings per game.
- Participation in all in-season practices and tournaments is expected.
- Participation in preseason OPYBS-sponsored open gyms and clinics is encouraged.
