Coaches Corner

Our entire baseball and softball organization is composed of volunteers. Last year, our organization had over 300 volunteer coaches. The experience of our coaches is widely varied. Whether you’re a seasoned dugout captain or a newcomer, we welcome you to this opportunity. OPYBS offers training resources, support and development opportunities for all coaches. We emphasize a growth mindset to the kids in the program; we take the same approach with coaches.

In our organization, we believe the emphasis is greater on coaching the kid than coaching the sport. Some of our very best coaches have had no experience but are great human beings who understand what it means to be a leader and make a fun and rewarding experience for the players. All of our volunteer coaches must pass a background check and take a Safe Sport Certification and take the OPYBS Coaches Pledge.
