Guidelines
- 12U and under players must play in OPYBS House League to be eligible.
- Tournament schedule is driven by the House League schedule. House League commitments and participation remain the priority.
- OPYBS will provide a subsidy to help defray the costs of participation.
- Age and squad levels will be determined from year to year based on interest.
- Off-Season Tryouts for 10U and older teams will take place in mid- to late July for the fall and following spring/summer season. Tryouts for 8U and 9U and full team practices will begin no sooner than March.
- Roster spots are offered based upon coach’s selection after tryouts, and are not negotiable.
- When possible selected tournaments will be within one hour and 30 minutes from Oak Park.
- In most cases, tournaments selected will be over weekends – Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- This is competitive tournament play. Players are not guaranteed a minimum number of innings per game.
- Participation in all in-season practices and tournaments is expected.
- Participation in preseason OPYBS-sponsored open gyms and clinics is encouraged.

- Highlights for the 2027 season include: Additional catchers club opportunities through Practice Pro, Continued pitching lessons with Practice Pro, New hitting lessons (group or individual) with Clutch Academy, ongoing winter workouts and off-season training, additional paid professional support for practices for 11U-14U teams, Continued Falcons Rise (Mental Strength and Nutrition) programming
- In addition to current teams, Falcons plan on adding new teams at the 9U-12U levels
- Green and Black are our most competitive teams. White is a practice team and focused solely on development and reps.
- New USSSA age rules will be used at the start of the new season (September 2026). New rules closely mirror ages used for grade level in school.
- Tryouts are scheduled on July 8th from 5:00–8:30 p.m. and July 13th from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at the RCRC. Athletes only need to attend one session. Alternate evaluations will be scheduled as needed; please contact falcons@opybs.org if you are unable to attend either date.
